Over 35 Years of Touring Excellence
Triple J Tours Celebrated 30 Years of Touring in 2018 (1988-2018)
Triple J Tours has been sharing the beauty of the Ord River region for over 35 years. Since our first cruise in 1988, we have grown from a small operation into a leading tour provider in Kununurra, welcoming over 420,000 passengers along the way.
Our tour is one of the longest daily river cruises in Australia, covering the 55km stretch between Kununurra and the Ord Top Dam at Lake Argyle. Combined with a 70km coach journey through the historic Durack country and a visit to the Durack Homestead Museum, it’s no wonder this has become one of the most popular touring experiences for visitors to the region. The tour highlights the ambitious Ord River Irrigation Scheme, the thriving agriculture it supports, and the unique ecosystem that has flourished since the Kununurra Diversion Dam was built in 1963.
In our early days, cruising the Ord River meant navigating a wild and challenging landscape, full of sandbanks, submerged logs, and treacherous overhangs. It was hard work—but those early efforts helped lay the foundation for the safe, enjoyable, and educational experiences we provide today.
Triple J Tours offers a range of experiences, from wildlife spotting, photography, and birdwatching to geology, cultural interpretation, history, and agriculture. Our team of experienced skippers are deeply knowledgeable about the Ord River system, ensuring every tour is engaging, informative, and memorable.
Join us at Triple J Tours for a truly remarkable river cruising experience—built on decades of expertise, care, and passion.
