Ord River Discoverer with Sunset & Bungle Bungle Adventurer (CJ2/3/4)

The Bungle Bungle Range in the World Heritage listed Purnululu National Park is one of the most fascinating geological landscapes in Western Australia.  From an aircraft it is an imposing sight.   This 2 hour air safari takes you on an unforgettable flight over the Bungle Bungle Range, Lake Argyle, the Argyle Diamond Mine and the Ord River Irrigation Area.

To combine this Bungle Bungle experience with one of our Ord River journeys, please select from either our Ord River Discoverer with Sunset (J3), Ord River Experience with Riverside Lunch (J2) or Ord River Explorer with Sunset (J4). Be collected from your accommodation for your scenic flight in a  Prop Jet, air-conditioned, high wing Cessna Grand Caravan offering comfort, safety and spectacular viewing opportunities.  This award winning air safari from Kununurra to the Purnululu National Park is an exhilarating adventure taking in the Kimberley’s best icons.  Be enthralled by the full expanse of Lake Argyle, the Ord Top Dam wall, Lake Kununurra and the Ord Irrigation Area, view the Carr Boyd and Osmand Ranges, the Ord River and Bow River and experience spectacular aerial views of the Bungle Bungle in the World Heritage listed Purnululu National Park.  On return to Kununurra, you will orbit the fascinating Argyle Diamond Mine where rare pink diamonds are mined.  You will be returned to your accommodation after your flight lands in Kununurra.

You will then be collected from your accommodation at 11.30am and taken by coach through Durack country to Lake Argyle.  As we near Lake Argyle, we will take a short break at the historic Durack Homestead Museum.  This Museum was constructed as a replica of the original family Homestead and uses the original Homestead stone.

Re-boarding the coach, we drive the short distance to Lake Argyle Resort before viewing the enormous Lake Argyle from a scenic look-out.  Crossing the Ord Top Dam wall, guests will see the Ord Hydro-Power Station before boarding their Triple J Tours boat for a scenic 55km cruise back to Kununurra. Marvel at the spectacular scenery, wildlife, flora and fauna found along the way, including the elusive freshwater crocodile! Enjoy afternoon tea at our riverside camp before heading back to Kununurra.  Take in a colourful East Kimberley sunset before docking back at the Marina and re-boarding your coach for your accommodation drop-off at around 6.00pm.

Please note: You may also combine this tour with Triple J Tour’s (J2) Ord River Experience with Riverside Lunch which works in reverse to the (J3) option ie. departing Kununurra by coach at 9am and returning to Kununurra by boat at approx. 3.30pm including a sumptuous buffet lunch at one of Triple J Tours riverside camps.  Pricing is the same.
