Triple J Tours is a seasonal operation based in Kununurra.  Generally, positions required are from April to September and the roles are varied (Skippers, Coach Captains, Cook, Dish Washer, Boat Cleaner, Mechanic).

COACH CAPTAIN

In this role you will be responsible for driving the coaches, providing an informative and interesting commentary, liaising with passengers, picking up and dropping of guests using a manifest, keeping the coach clean and tidy.  Essential skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum of an MR drivers licence
  • F endorsement on your licence
  • Great people skills
  • Ability to speak publicly
  • Willingness to learn
  • Physically fit and able

A normal day starts around 9am and ends around 6pm, work is 5 -6 days per week, although you will need to be flexible during peak season. We are looking for someone who will commit for the whole season from early April through to the end of September.

Please ensure that you have a MR or HR licence before you apply for this role.

COOK

The main responsibilities will be:

  • Operating in a commercial kitchen
  • Ordering stock
  • Cooking a variety of different foods including making scones, salads, preparing meats etc for afternoon teas, lunches, dinners and canapes
  • Loading and unloading of food for commercial tours
  • Cleaning dishes and all associated plant and equipment in the kitchen

Candidates must be willing to get involved with all aspects of the kitchen including doing dishes and placing orders.

To be successful in this role you must have experience in a commercial kitchen or previous catering experience, have excellent time management skills, be able to work in a high-pressure team environment and have a high level of organisation.

Hours per week will be around 40 over 5 -6 days per week. Days and hours will vary greatly and flexibility in shift times and days off is a must.

You will need to commit to the whole season from April through to the end of September.

MECHANIC

In this role you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining our marine and our motor fleets as well as undertaking pre-departure checks, re-fuelling, ordering parts and liaising with contractors involved in work.

Our marine outboard fleet are all modern 4 stroke Yamaha engines and our motor fleet comprises road coaches, fuel truck, coaster, mini bus, and utes.

Essential skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum of Marine (preferred) small engines or automotive trade certificate
  • Minimum of a MR drivers licence
  • Great organisational and time management skills
  • Willingness to learn
  • Physically fit and able
  • Computer literate

Non-essential but preferred skills and qualifications:

  • A dangerous goods licence
  • Aluminium welding
  • Fabrication
  • Auto air-con ticket
  • Recreational skippers ticket

BOAT CLEANER

The main responsibilities of this role will be to –

  • Clean the boats
  • General cleaning duties
  • Cleaning utes when needed
  • Washing dishes when needed

To be successful in this role you will need to be efficient with time management, have attention to detail, take pride in your work, be able to work alone & as part of a team, be flexible with shift times & have a valid driver’s licence.

Shifts are split over 40 hours, 5-6 days a week and you will need to commit to the whole season from mid-April through to the end of September.

A couple who would be happy to share this role between them are encouraged to apply. This has worked very well in the past.
