Triple J Tours is a seasonal operation based in Kununurra.  Generally, positions required are from April to September and the roles are varied (Skippers, Coach Captains, Cook, Dish Washer, Boat Cleaner).

BOAT SKIPPER

In this role you will be responsible for skippering the boat, providing an informative and interesting commentary, liaising with passengers, stocking the boat, keeping the boat clean and tidy.

Essential skills and qualifications:

* Minimum of Coxswains ticket

* Drivers licence with F endorsement

* Great people skills

* Ability to speak publicly

* Willingness to learn

* Physically fit and able

* An MR Licence is preferable but not essential

A normal day starts around 9am and ends around 6pm, work is 5 -6 days per week, although you will need to be flexible during peak season. We are looking for someone who will commit for the whole season from early April/May through to the end of August/September.

Couples are encouraged to apply for this role along with the Boat Host(ess)/Approved Manager position

This position is open to Australian residents only.

 

BOAT HOST(ESS)/APPROVED MANAGER

You will be responsible for cooking and serving food on the cruise for up to 50 guests along with serving the bar, so you will need to be very organised. You will also be required to help with the cleaning and upkeep of the boat. There will be some food preparation before the cruise, and you must ensure the boat is fully stocked. This is a physically demanding role and you will need to have a good level of fitness.

Essential skills and qualifications:

* Approved managers

* Previous cooking experience

* Driver’s license with ‘F’ endorsement

* Great people skills

* Customer service experience

* Willingness to learn

* Physically fit and able

* An ‘MR’ License is preferable but not essential

A normal day starts around 10.30am and ends around 6.30pm, work is 5 -6 days per week, although you will need to be flexible during peak season. We are looking for someone who will commit for the whole season from mid May through to the end of August.

RESERVATIONS

The main responsibilities of this role will be to –

  • Answer phones and emails, taking bookings and enquiries
  • General cleaning duties
  • Small scale food preparation
  • Cleaning dishes

To be successful in this role you will need to be a great team player, have good communication skills and a pleasant phone and email manner. Experience in customer service is a key component of this job role.

This is a varied role and will involve a lot of adaptability and flexibility to jump from task to task as required.

It is an essential requirement that you have a driver’s license with an ‘F’ endorsement.

Shifts are split over 40 hours, 5-6 days a week and you will need to commit to the whole season from mid-April through to the end of September.

KITCHEN & CATERING MANAGER

The main responsibilities will be:

  • Running of a commercial kitchen
  • Ordering stock
  • Preparing lunches for the tours
  • Cooking a variety of different foods including making scones, salads, preparing meats etc.
  • Rostering kitchen staff
  • Loading and unloading of food for commercial tours
  • Cleaning dishes and all associated plant and equipment in the kitchen

***It is essential to have a driver’s license with an “F” endorsement to apply for this position***

Candidates must be willing to get involved with all aspects of the kitchen including doing dishes, placing orders and answer the phone.

To be successful in this role you must have experience in a commercial kitchen or previous catering experience, have excellent time management skills, be able to work in a high-pressure team environment and have a high level of organisation.

Hours per week will be around 40 over 5 -6 days per week. Days and hours will vary greatly and flexibility in shift times and days off is a must.

You will need to commit to the whole season from mid-March through to the end of October.
