Frequently Asked Questions
Here are the answers to some of the most asked questions received by Triple J Tours.
Why are you called Triple J Tours?
Triple J Tours was set up by Jeff and Jenny Hayley and Jenny’s brother Jamie back in May, 1988. Triple J Tours is using the first letter of the three business partner names. Today Triple J Tours has two Directors – Jeff Hayley and Grant Lodge.
Does your tour go on Lake Argyle?
Technically, no. Our touring options take you by coach to or from Lake Argyle. As part of this coach journey, you travel from Kununurra to Lake Argyle through “Durack Country,” with a stop at the Argyle Downs Homestead Museum (approx. 20 minutes) before driving past the Argyle township and across the Ord Top Dam wall (or in reverse, depending on your tour selection).
Once across the dam wall, we stop at the lookout area, where you can view a small expanse of Lake Argyle as well as enjoy the incredible downstream view toward Kununurra.
If you want to get out on Lake Argyle itself, you can join one of the tours operating from Lake Argyle Resort, such as the Kimberley Durack Lunch Explorer Cruise, which combines stunning scenery, wildlife spotting, and a relaxed cruise experience on the lake. You can find more information about these tours here.
How long is the river (Lake Kununurra)?
