Ord River & Bungle Bungle Air Adventure (BAC)

Taking off from Kununurra in a Kimberley Air Tours plane, see the Ord River Irrigation Area, the mighty Ord River and Spillway Creek, the overflow for Lake Argyle. From the air, you will view the Durack Family Homestead, Argyle Downs and the Ord River Hydro power station in action below the Ord Top Dam wall.

Scenic Flight Departure (Morning)

Depart from Kununurra aboard a Kimberley Air Tours plane.
Fly over the Ord River Irrigation Area, the Ord River, and Spillway Creek (Lake Argyle overflow).
Take in aerial views of:
- Durack Family Homestead
- Argyle Downs
- Ord River Hydro Power Station below the Ord Top Dam wall
Continue down the full 60 km expanse of Lake Argyle, learning about cattle stations and the Bow River Diamond Mine along the way.

Bungle Bungle Massif (Mid-Morning)

Admire the 240,000 ha Purnululu National Park as the Bungle Bungle range rises 300 m from the desert.
Orbit the Bungle Bungle massif, viewing:
- Iconic striped beehive domes
- Cathedral Gorge and Piccaninny Gorge
On return to Kununurra, fly over the Argyle Diamond Mine (world’s largest producer of pink and coloured diamonds) and the Carr Boyd Range.

Coach Transfer to Lake Argyle (11:30 AM)

Collected from your accommodation for a coach journey through Durack country to Lake Argyle.
Stop at the Durack Homestead Museum — a replica built using the original homestead stone.

Lake Argyle Scenic Stop & Dam Crossing

Continue to Lake Argyle Resort and take in panoramic views of the enormous lake from a lookout.
Cross the Ord Top Dam wall and view the Ord Hydro Power Station in action.

Ord River Discoverer Cruise

Board your Triple J Tours boat for a 55 km scenic river journey back to Kununurra.
Enjoy wildlife, native flora and fauna, and look out for the elusive freshwater crocodile.
Stop for afternoon tea at a riverside camp along the way.
